So I arrived in texas last friday night…. I wasn’t able to sleep much on the way here, so I ended up getting here in a matter of about 20-23 hours.
My uncle Immidiately put me to work… Even though, for what it is, he was taking it easy on me. Though, as the week progressed, he got a bit tougher. My skin is burning, and my muscles are sore as hell. HOWEVER. The work is good. It’s relatively simple. The only thing that is difficult is the litteral heavy lifting. I’ve been hauling stone, wood, and concrete. My hands are a tad torn and worn now… but I think this is good for me. I’ve lost 6 pounds already lol. If concrete carrying is the hardest this job has to offer, I’ve got it down pat. I can’t wait to start learning actual construction stuff. I observed one of the jobs from start to finish, and I somewhat know what goes into building a solid picket fence now.
I’m hoping to someday be able to take off on my own and be able to work for myself, as my uncle does. Overall, I’m liking it here in Tx.
